Thirfty Finds

I stopped off at the Goodwill today to find some of these great things.

All of the books I got I plan on using them as a christmas advent and wrap all of the books as present and open up one a night and read it to my kids. They are going to love it. 

I started decorating with some of the stuff I got today and I'll be showing it tommorrow.

side table redo

I had picked up this little table at the goodwill a few weeks back and refinished it to go outside on my patio. I only paid $5 for this little table.

Here's what it looked like before: (it was screaming for a new makeover)

I sanded it on and primed the legs

I painted the legs a glossy white that I had around the house, we used them on our cabinets and trim

This is the color I used to stain the top, I added three or four coats to the color desired

VOLIA.........heres the finished touch! I love it!

Thrifty Shopping

I had was off work monday had somethings to do. My mom and I ran by a few thrift store while we were out. Our first store we stopped at, we walked in and got an 35% off coupon on each of our items, then while we were shopping the manager came on the speaker and said if you have a picture id then bring it to the front and I'll give you 50% on your purchases. I though WOW! So we ran up to the front and we were ready to check out anyways! That was awesome! She said they are going to start doing that on every Monday! Then off to the next store GOODWILL. We were shopping around and this lady was asking us if we had a discount card and we said NO. She said when you go to check out let me know and you can use mine. That was so nice of her to let me use her card. I got 10% off of my purchase there. Awesome day for savings!

Here are the items I got and planning on doing alot of painting with these.

I haven't decided where I want the floor lamp after I paint it here beside the couch

or behind it, I'm leaning towards behind it.

I was going to paint it either white, black or what about a dark brown? What do you think?

Trash to Treasure

Our Big Spring/Trash cleanup was this past weekend and I was on my way to Wally world when I saw this loveseat with two chairs (not the one in the pic) so I decided I would get it on my way back home needless to say the two chairs were gone and I saw the truck that had them too GRRR! I could have kicked myself for not getting them when I saw them! HA Anyways, I grab the loveseat and decided to go through a couple of neighbors near by and found this chair to go with the loveseat! I have plans to paint them and sew some cushion covers and put them on my backyard patio. Can't wait to get started on them. I have been wanting some wicker furniture outside for awhile and now I don't have to pay $200 or more for a set! I got mine FREE!!!!!
