I have always made chicken n dumplings on the stove in a pot and never in a crockpot. This has become one of my favorite comfort foods since I found this recipe over @ Cooking on Clover Lane. This recipe I can throw together before I go to work and a hot and comfort dinner is ready when we all get home. Here is what you need:
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves ( i use about 6 pieces of frozen tenderloin chicken)
2 TBS butter
2 cans of cream of chicken soup
1 onion finely chopped
2 packages of refrigerated biscuit dough, torn into pieces
Place the chicken, butter, soup and onion in a slow cooker, and fill with just enough water to cover.Cover and cook for 5-6 hours on High. About 30 minutes before serving, place the torn biscuit dough in the slow cooker. Cook until the dough is no longer raw in the center.
